An operator proposed a new SAGD scheme eight years ago in a new area far to the west from other SAGD operations. His proposed project had thinner pay than most other SAGD projects. Most SAGD projects are fairly close to the Saskatchewan border but this one is not.

This project was never expanded past it original boundaries, although there are townships of land associated with it. The original project took almost two years to obtain approval.
